Moving on tyrelessly

In India, about 100 million tyres require recycling annually, which is about 275,000 tyres (675 shipping containers or 2,399 tonnes) every day! And here is someone who is doing something about it

Diksha Chopra

Tyrelessly, a website, came into existence when 16-year-old Anubhav, a student of Pathways World School, Aravali Retreat, off Gurgaon Sohna Road, Gurgaon, Haryana, saw someone setting fire to a couple of tyres. This incident got him thinking about the huge amount of used tyres that have served their purpose and are rendered useless. After doing a Google search, Anubhav learned that burning tyres released a cocktail of toxic gases, and is a big environmental hazard.

Anubhav founded Tyrelessly, with the determination to stop this practice and to propagate safe disposal of tyres. He started the company on January 15, 2016 and is already making a positive impact.

Anubhav passionately explains that through his website (tyrelessly.com), anyone can request for old tyres to be picked up. Anubhav explained further, “Once the tyre is picked up, it is sent to a recycling plant where it undergoes pyrolysis. This is an extraction process which can convert tyres into usable by-products like fuel oils, steel and so on.”

The organisation operates from Delhi/NCR. However, soon, the services may expand to other major cities as well. The services offered are completely free of cost. Anubhav hopes to generate adequate revenue through advertisements on the website, as well as from sale of recycled by-products.

Anubhav is a firm believer in involving students to play a pivotal role in increasing awareness and educating people about risks of burning tyres.

This wonder kid is also the founder and CEO of two other ventures—a software firm called TechAPTO, and Trends on Internet, an analytical company.
